When I first met Sara, she had been knocked back by some major life events. She came to me through the South Cambs Wellbeing page, initially looking for coaching for her child, Ash. Sara was hoping to build Ash’s confidence—Ash, who was clearly gifted, had been deeply affected, just like the rest of the family. Ash’s story is incredible in its own right—a truly talented musician—but today, I want to focus on Sara.
Sara didn’t come looking for healing for herself. But, as it so often does, healing has a way of finding us when we least expect it.
At first, she wasn’t entirely sure about the singing journey. But when Sara realized she could trust me, and when she discovered that singing in pitch was actually possible—something began to shift. Don’t just take my word for it—take it from her children, who now say things like,
“Mum, I don’t get irritated when you sing anymore,”
and
“You can actually sing now, Mum.”
She can now enjoy singing with friends and family without feeling self conscious.
That alone is beautiful—but what really moves me is that Sara’s journey has become so much more than learning to sing. It’s a story of rediscovering belief in herself. A story of showing up, again and again. A story of learning that the voice—her voice—can be a gateway to something deeper. Freedom. Joy. Confidence.
What started as vocal coaching turned into a journey of connection. Sara is now not only a long-time client but also a dear friend. Through our time together, I’ve come to know Sara’s gifts as an earth energy healer—something she had quietly carried with her all along. It wasn’t long before we realized we needed to bring our talents together. To create something powerful. Something heart-led. Something healing for others. Something that allows others to grow in confidence and find freedom in singing.
Sara and I both deeply believe in the power of music to transform. And she welcomed me into her world with open arms—so much so that I was invited to Ash’s 18th birthday. That evening, as the family sang and shared heartfelt words they had written for Ash, I was the only one crying—deeply moved by the love and beauty of it all.
Life doesn’t always follow the path we expect. Sometimes families fracture. Trauma hits hard. But from those places, music and connection can rebuild something incredibly strong. And that’s what Sara has done.
